Project Residential New Build
Location South Norwood, London
Client Clarendon Homes Ltd
We worked with a Kent based developer Clarendon Homes on this project which involved the demolition of an existing block of vacant garages and in its place the construction of seven mews houses.
The aim was to overcome the restricted nature of the site and maximize its development potential, whilst taking into consideration challenges such as maintaining good levels of natural daylight and lack of privacy caused by the close proximity to several flat blocks.
The homes echo the neighboring Victorian buildings through the use of yellow stock brickwork and features such as the bay windows, detailed in a contemporary manor. Although space was limited, each home was designed in accordance with the Nationally Described Space Standards to ensure compact yet practical living.
For this project we worked with the developer to assess the project’s financial feasibility and identify the most suitable scheme. We undertook the role of project lead and carried out the co-ordination of other consultants and necessary reports, before preparing and submitting a successful planning application. Lastly we produced building regulation drawings and specification in preparation for the developer to begin the construction of the homes.
